Once you’ve scooped out your pumpkin in preparation for halloween, you may want to think twice about throwing out the innards! Apart from the seeds being a delicious, and super nutritious, snack, pumpkin is absolutely wonderful as a face mask when applied topically to the skin!

Why Is Pumpkin So Good For Your Skin?

Pumpkin Yogurt face Mask to Soothe and Hydrate
This soothing face mask combines yogurt and pumpkin with just a dash of cinnamon to really get you in the fall spirit.
Yogurt may seem like a strange ingredient to slather on your skin, but it contains lactic acid, which helps to further enhance the exfoliating properties of pumpkin as well as leave your skin baby soft and hydrated.
Cinnamon is more than just a yummy scent. This spice increases circulation, which helps to promote the formation of collagen. It is also an excellent ingredient for healing inflammatory skin conditions such as acne.
Pumpkin and Honey Face Mask for Brighter, Clearer Skin
While honey, coconut oil and almond milk are all wonderful ingredients you will often find in clean eating, decadent desserts, they are also excellent ingredients to apply topically to your skin!
Honey is filled with amino acids, enzymes and other nutrients that will leave your skin hydrated and radiant. The antibacterial properties make it ideal for treating and preventing breakouts, while intense moisturizing properties means it works just as well for dry skin.
The fatty acids in coconut oil provide anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties, and almond milk is rich in skin repairing Vitamin E.
Pumpkin and Apple Cider for Youthful Skin

The addition of apple cider to the pumpkin helps to create an anti-aging face mask as apple cider fights wrinkles.
Ingredients you’ll need:
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- ⅓ c raw pumpkin or pumpkin puree
- Pinch of cinnamon
How to make it: Simply mix the apple cider vinegar and raw pumpkin, and a dash of cinnamon to help lessen the strong smell of the apple cider vinegar. Smooth over skin and allow to set for at least 20 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water and patting dry.
