With beautiful bright sunshine, and long steamy days, it’s inevitable that you’ll find yourself sipping something cool a lot more often than you do in the chillier months.
While hydration is obviously vital for not only a healthy body, but also a beautiful skin, did you ever stop to wonder if that drink you’re sipping is actually benefiting your body in any way? Switch Fizzy Drinks for Kombucha
If you’ve never heard of kombucha, then we fear you may have been living under a rock for the past while, but luckily we’re here to fill you in!
Kombucha is a fermented drink (sounds gross, but trust us, it’s delish!) made by fermenting sweet tea with a culture of bacteria and yeast. The end result is a much lower sugar drink than a can of coke or mountain dew. Don’t be afraid of the word bacteria either. Kombucha is filled with healthy bacteria that feeds your gut and keeps it soothed and happy.
It’s a popular alternative for chemical fizzy drinks, as kombucha is also fizzy and it comes in a variety of flavors to suit your tastebuds. While you can certainly pick this up at your nearest health store, why not gather some friends and whip up a batch yourself for your next summer party?
Enjoy Sugar Free Lemonade
We can’t think of anything more refreshing on those especially hot days than a refreshing glass of lemonade! Unfortunately, the Vitamin C rich benefits of lemons are masked by the massive amounts of sugar that give lemonade it’s characteristic sweet flavor.
Vitamin C has powerful antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties that will keep your skin clear and bright, and with this sugar free lemonade recipe you'll be able to reap the vitamin C benefits. Stevia is a plant based sweetener that is a much healthier alternative than refined white sugar, so you can enjoy more than a just one glass!
Sip a Cocktail Without The Guilt
Cocktails are one of those summer staple drinks, preferably in the evening on a beach somewhere! Unfortunately, cocktails are full of sugar, and this together with alcohol can really take a toll on your skin. You shouldn't have to avoid cocktails altogether though, and we aren't going to make you drink a virgin cocktail either!
This margarita recipe is sugar free so you don't have to feel too guilty about indulging, but it's still alcohol so be sure to drink a glass of water alongside each drink to avoid a nasty hangover, and to keep your skin cells hydrated and plump.
We hope you enjoy trying out these recipes for yourself, and be sure to have a drink for us!
