Transition Into A Fall Skincare Routine With These 3 Simple Steps

Posted by Stem Organics USA on

Cooler, crisp temperatures are around the corner, and after a summer with heat warnings across many parts, we say it comes as a welcome relief!

Of course many of us will miss the longer, warmer days of summer, but fall is a beautiful season with the leaves changing all the colors of a particularly beautiful sunset, and warm fireplaces beckoning with steamy mugs of hot cocoa and a cozy blanket.

While the cooler, crisp air may feel wonderful  it’s not so wonderful, however, for your skin. Don’t despair! With these fall skincare tips, you will be able to go out and enjoy this gorgeous season without worrying about your skin!

Exfoliation is always excellent to do at the start of every new season. Every season is a time of change and transition, and exfoliation helps to rid your skin of old, dead skin cells and take it into the new season feeling brighter, smoother and healthier. It’s also an excellent step to prep your skin to better absorb your skin care products.

A gentle exfoliator that can be used a couple of times a week is always a good choice. Our Smooth Skin Exfoliant offers a thorough microdermabrasion style exfoliation, but is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin thanks to microfine bamboo.

Hydrate Your Skin

During summer, we use products to control grease and shine, as the steamy temps increase oil in our skin, and a shiny face is never a good look!

In fall, however, the cooler, crisp air is a result of drier air, which can cause the skin to dry out. The lips are a big target too, ever noticed how flakey your lips can get in the cooler seasons?

There’s an easy fix for this, and that’s to simply add more moisture into your skincare regimen. If you preferred a lighter moisturiser during summer, then now is the time to switch it up to a more intense lotion.

Our Hydrating Face Fluid is perfect for providing deep moisture that never feels greasy, and it will protect your skin against the elements. Ingredients include fatty acids, vitamin E and other antioxidants to hydrate, repair and protect.

Don’t Skip the SPF

This is one step we recommend all year long. On cloudy days it can seem silly to apply an SPF, but the truth is that the UV rays will still affect your skin. The sun is the skin’s worst enemy when it comes to aging, so it’s important to make sure your skin is protected every time you head outdoors.

An SPF of at least 30 or higher is recommended. Don’t forget your neck and ears, as well as your hands. The hands are often a dead giveaway of age so be sure to take care of them!

As you can see, changing your skincare routine to fit in with a new season doesn’t have to be hard! Just a few simple steps can make all the difference.
